Gallery 1889 is a new gallery and event space located in the historic, artistic neighborhood of Greenpoint, Brooklyn. The space transformed from a long-vacant storefront to a bustling site for art, design, architecture, and unique events.

Gallery 1889 was the brainchild of Matthew Josephs and Steven Urbatsch of the Brooklyn manufacturing company Material Process Systems, Inc. Matthew and Steven wanted a place to show off the amazing productivity and capability of the Brooklyn design and art scene, and to create a space for design, art, and beautifully crafted objects to come to the community.
