Collective Gallery 173-171 had its first exhibit in October 2006; there have been 14 shows since then with 34 artists that have participated. The space is located in Chinatown, far from Chelsea’s cold allure, and close to the New Museum’s energy. The space prides and maintains itself on being discovered by word of mouth and grassroots marketing.
