McCaig Welles and Rosenthal are pleased to present “The Glory Hole” an art installation by Greg Haberny. The show will open with a reception on Saturday September 13th, 2008 from 7pm – 10pm.
With the stimulus payments at an end, Americans now have fewer buffers between their pocketbooks and higher energy costs, falling home values and the tight credit market. Companies and investors are bracing for spending to fall even further this year so why not visit ?The Glory Hole?? A tribute to modern society?s vices and ill?s, a symbolic spectacle of contemporary information overload based on the current climate of politics, race and religion and their marriage to the corporate money machine that sucks the life out of our already stressed civilization. In the ?Pre-Apocalyptic Expressionist? style (a blend of street and conceptual art) there will be works created using guns, explosives, fire and most importantly, paint. This installation will pay homage to America?s housing debacle as artist Greg Haberny unapologetically fills a much needed niche in affordable housing; affordable art.
