This exhibition combines the fashion designs and canvasses of Russian designer and painter Katya Leonovich. The runway show features couture denim dresses surrounded by paintings inspired by the 7 deadly sins. When you meet Katya Leonovich you get the distinct impression that just below the surface of the intelligent gaze lurks a very explosive desire to create. Not satisfied with confining her artistic nature to one particular form, she instinctively recognizes the need to incorporate the value of other art venues into her work. Her mixed media paintings go beyond the three dimensional and actually take flight as a movable object targeting the runways of couture and the sidewalks of any major global city.

Among the many influences that define Leonovich’s work, first and foremost is her choice and application of color. Combining industrial grays with blood red swatches, as if morphing the human flesh into its current physical environment.

Combining these elements with visionary structural designs destines this young artist to all things extraordinary and beyond…
