On July 2, 2008, Found Gallery invites you to A Garden Party Evening. Come celebrate your Los Angeles story with the makers of Garden Party. Set to the backdrop of Producer and Artist Tim Youd’s elegant and minimalist brushstrokes, and Irene Kai’s photographic exploration of what is and what is not, the party is a celebration of the Potemkin splendor of this, the City of Angels. The gallery walls will be adorned with art from the film, and various cast and crew members will be in attendance.

The Reception: Join us on Wednesday, July 2, from 7-10pm at Found Gallery. After Party at the Hyperion Tavern up the street.

About the Film: Willa Holland and Vinessa Shaw star in this quintessential Los Angeles movie about three kids searching for their dreams and running into a lot of Porn, Pot and Rock’n’Roll. If you think you’ve seen it before, think again. GARDEN PARTY ”refuses to go where you expect it to” says John Hartl of the Seattle Times. The film opens on July 11 in Los Angeles, New York, Seattle and Portland. In LA, it will open at the Laemmle’s Monica 4 in Santa Monica, the Laemmle’s Sunset 5 in Hollywood and the Laemmle’s Playhouse 7 in Pasadena. It will also play in Irvine at the Edwards University Town Center 6. Watch the trailer.

About the Artists: Tim Youd is a painter and film producer. His films include 1998’s critically acclaimed Brown’s Requiem. Irene Kai is an award winning author, activist and artist who shares her own LA story in her memoir The Golden Mountain.
