This exhibition introduces the dynamic position that printmaking has played in the artistic and political fabric of South Africa, from the 1960s to today’s period that includes Apartheid and post-Apartheid issues. Comprising recent acquisitions to the Museum’s collection, this installation will include over seventy works, showcasing some twenty South African artists never before exhibited here, along with key examples by William Kentridge, one of South Africa’s most celebrated artists. This exhibition will be accompanied by a catalogue.
